Competition

Since the agreement to form an integrated ASEAN Economic Community into a single market, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand have been attempting to position themselves as the ASEAN Fashion Capital. With no clear front-runner Thailand, and in particular Bangkok, have a real chance of claiming the title despite the fierce competition.

Buildner architecture competitions organisers, in co-operation with some of Bangkok’s most prominent new fashion designers, are supporting Thailand’s goal of becoming the ASEAN Fashion Capital. As such, Buildner architecture competition organisers asks designers from around the world to submit architecture visions for a regional ASEAN Fashion Hub that would be based in Bangkok.

The purpose of the Fashion Hub is to serve as a central location with the facilities to provide education and experience to both fashion students as well as up and coming local fashion designers. The Fashion Hub will have areas dedicated to workshops and skills labs and facilities to accommodate guest speakers and exchange programs with students and designers from all around the world.

Participants are encouraged to present a building complex that would inspire and attract regional and international attention. The building should be a proud landmark and representation of Bangkok’s emerging talent.

As a central location for fashion in Bangkok the Fashion Hub will also serve as a venue to present and display local and international collections, in the hopes of attracting both designers and investors from other countries to further the city’s standings as the ASEAN Fashion Capital.

Buildner architecture competition organisers believes that world-class ideas exist world-wide, therefore Buildner encourages participation from architects, architecture students and architecture enthusiasts from around the world. Buildner is looking for bold and creative ideas, which produce an engaging vision of Bangkok’s future fashion status. One that will conform to Bangkok’s identity and will be welcomed by its citizens, its visitors and all of its new fashion designers.
